Wanna play your favorite games? but those annoying errors that don’t let you run your games, asking for missing d3d files and runtime library errors. I’ve faced those errors many times so I thought of sharing with you guys, most common software which are required to run games properly. Although latest windows editions are shipped with most of those software but most of the time you’d be running an older version of windows like Windows 7 and you don’t want to upgrade your operating system and also wanna play your favorite games. In those scenarios, these software packages come in handy and provide you with most of necessary files required by your games.
Here I’ve shared some of those software:
Microsoft DirectX (In most cases DirectX 9):
Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks
related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms.
DirectX is the most common software which provides you with necessary d3d and runtime library files required for 3D rendering in games.
You can update or install these files in two ways
1- Online Installation:
You can use DirectX Web Installer provided by Microsoft to update or install runtime libraries directly from internet.
Here is the link for the web installer. It’s size is in KBs you just Download it and run it and it will automatically update or install your runtime library files.
Having DirectX setup offline in your pc is very useful as you don’t have to connect to Internet and download and install runtime libraries. Most commonly DirectX 9.0c would do the job. You can download the entire setup below. It’s size is about 92 MB. You download it once and after that you every time you reinstall Windows or get any d3d files error you can run it and hopefully it will solve your problem.
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable:
Many applications require redistributable Visual C++ packages to function correctly. These packages are often installed independently of applications, allowing multiple applications to make use of the package while only having to install it once. These Visual C++ redistributable and runtime packages are mostly installed for standard libraries that many applications use. There are two variants of this package one for x86 and the other for x64.
After downloading, run the software and it will install necessary files.
For x86 Systems:
If the links are broken and not working or you want me add any other software in the list you can tell me in comments Also if you have other related questions, I’ll be happy to help 🙂
